I paid to hire a car,but not only did I not get the details to pick up the car,they denied being paid for it.would never use this company again
If you are reading reviews to decide if you should use getaround - DON'T. They ask for licence, passport, video. If you say you have dual citizenship they ask for the other passport too. Then they ask for a picture of you with licence. Then they ask for visa. Then they ask for plane ticket. Two days and I'm still not verified after giving them uncomfortable amount of information. They seem unable to grasp the concept of reserving a car before you need it. Use turo or rental cars.
50/50+- you have chance to get broken or non accessible car. Was quite disappointed last 3 times. Aside that it's better at some points than traditional car rental.
First time users: Don't count on last moment hire. The account verification process takes up to two business hours. You must have an original passport, license and credit card on you for the verification process before first hire. At least I couldn't find this info on the website while learning about the service. Otherwise all was great!
Car for 26 euros. When you login it goes up to 41 euros. You logout, it goes back to 26. Horrendous.

Terrible app, errors all the time Their homepage also keep getting errors and ask you to contact support. They inform to try again later or try the app (that keeps failing)
This company is a thief. I booked a rental car on friday at 0940 and paid for 2377NOK. Bought extra km and insurance. I cancel the booking same day at 1157 due to illness. The refund is 1338.50. They ate up the km I never use as well as insurance money! I am happy to uninstall the app and won't use the company anymore. Luckily there are many rental car companies I can rely on.
Used this app once and won't ever again. For the money you spend, you might as well just rent a car. I rented a car for a few hours. It wasn't the cleanest but I didn't kick up a fuss since I'm using someone else's car after all. I reported some dirt but didn't expect anything to be done (nothing was of course). We had a small dog with us in the car (this wasn't against the rules) which left some hair in the car when we left. I accept the responsibility for that and don't mind paying a small fee for cleaning. I was charged €25 though which is an extortionate amount considering it just needed to be vacuumed. Furthermore, a security deposit of 150 euro was taken at the beginning of the rental and yet these extra costs were charged separately and I still don't have the deposit back. Great idea.. terrible execution. Never again. (PS Getaround - I have spoken to customer care and nothing changed so please don't bother replying to this review unless you plan on refunding me)
